A near drowning incident occurred Tuesday, July 2, at the Oak Ridge Outdoor Pool, the city of Oak Ridge is reporting.

A teenage boy was pulled from the deep end of the pool at 5:45 p.m. He was not identified in the city government news release because of his age.

"Upon rescuing him from the water, the young man was experiencing seizures and was bleeding from the nose," the release said. "Initially, he didn’t have a pulse. Lifeguards initiated resuscitation efforts and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) provided Advanced Cardiac Life Support. His pulse was restored and EMTs transported him to the hospital via ambulance."

He was reported as stable on Wednesday, July 3, and "undergoing medical evaluation for symptoms unrelated to the near-drowning incident."

No other information was available from the city.
