The Escambia (Fla.) recruit officially visited two weeks ago with his family and “loved it”. His mother said it was the “best OV, hands down” and the strong bond Clardy has with the defensive staff has seemingly closed the gap with Florida State. I entered an RPM prediction with a 65 percent confidence level for the 5-foot-11, 165 pound defensive back to leave the state and pick Ole Miss. A decision could be imminent.

The Rebels have always recruited well at the wide receiver position. Especially under Kiffin. Whether it’s via the portal or the prep ranks, the pull to be a go-to guy in the Ole Miss offense is still palpable. Howard is no exception. After his OV, there were strong vibes the Rebels have taken over the top spot in his recruitment. The mega productive wideout sees tons of opportunity in Oxford and could be the next playmaker in the slot.
Reed announces July 4 and it is reportedly down to Ole Miss and West Virginia. Clemson seemed like the early favorite but this has since cooled. The 6-foot-2 wideout is a multi-faceted wideout with big play potential at both the outside and slot. This is a recruitment which has kept most guessing so far.

This is a big one but it might not be the first. Nevertheless, Mills-Knight has announced a top schools list and the Rebels are at the top. Sources believe Ole Miss is the team to beat following his OV. And now that Akylin Dear has reopened (for now) his recruitment, the door is wide open for the Baylor School (Tenn.) three-star to be RB1 in the 2025 class. My pick is in for the Rebels to land him.
Ben Davis High School senior Tyler McClain (16) makes a move around the defense of IMG Academy High School junior Major Preston Jr. (0) during the first half of an IHSAA varsity football game, Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at Ben Davis High School.
Preston is set to announce July 6 between Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Florida and Colorado. The Hopewell (Va.) prospect took his final two OVs to Ole Miss and Virginia Tech and this could come down to the Rebels and Hokies. Sources tell OMSpirit the Rebels “feel good” about landing Preston, but the home state Hokies are typically tough to beat. Could Preston’s location at IMG Academy prove crucial for Ole Miss to land the talented safety? We shall see.
