The 2024 College Football season is coming up fast and it will have a new look to it.

The College Football Playoff is expanding from four teams to 12, and the nation's most powerful conference, the SEC, has added two major programs in the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners.

Although Georgia and Texas are the heavy favorites in the SEC, this new 12-team playoff will make the season a lot more interesting than it already was. One loss won't eliminate a team from title contention anymore.

Former UGA All-American David Pollack joined the ' Outkick Hot Mic ' podcast to discuss the upcoming season. When asked about schedules across the league, he identified Ole Miss as the team with a "gorgeous" schedule in 2024.

"Ole Miss' schedule is beautiful. Like, it is gorgeous. We talk about [Texas] A&M having a great schedule, Ole Miss, not only do they do their thing and retain people, not only do they go into the portal and get seven of the best 75 transfer portal guys. They dodge Alabama, a top-10 team. They dodge Texas, a top-five team. They dodge Missouri, a top-10 team. And they dodge Tennessee," Pollack said.

The Rebels are expected to make a run for the title, checking in at No. 5 in the Athlon Sports' preseason rankings . According to 247Sports, Mississippi has the best transfer portal class of the year, bringing in 24 total commits, eight of which are four or five-star players, including former Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolen. The Rebels also lost key players such as running back Quinshon Judkins

Pollack continued, "They're playing their best team, obviously Georgia, at home. Their out-of-conference schedule is not great. And I would argue their quarterback coming back with a lot of room for growth, a lot of talent. This is an Ole Miss year. They have to do it this year."

Ole Miss' non-conference schedule includes three mid-major programs and one lower-tier ACC team. It will include facing Georgia, LSU, and Oklahoma, but avoiding top-tier teams such as Alabama, Texas, and Missouri is a great draw.

The Rebels' schedule is as follows:

    • Sat., Aug. 31 – vs. Middle Tennessee
    • Sat., Sept. 7 – vs. Furman
    • Sat., Sept. 14 – vs. Georgia Southern
    • Sat., Sept. 21 – at Wake Forest
    • Sat., Sept. 28 – at South Carolina
    • Sat., Oct. 5 – vs. Kentucky
    • Sat., Oct. 12 – vs. Oklahoma
    • Sat., Oct. 26 – at LSU
    • Sat., Nov. 2 – vs. Georgia
    • Sat., Nov. 9 – at Arkansas
    • Sat., Nov. 23 – at Mississippi State
    • Sat., Nov. 30 – at Florida

Led by head coach Lane Kiffin and quarterback Jaxson Dart, the Rebels should have a high-powered offense once again this season. In 2023, they averaged the 12th most yards per game, guiding them to an 11-2 record and a Peach Bowl victory.
