Police: 15-year-old shot man walking with his wife in Kansas park
SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a 15-year-old in connection with a shooting during an altercation with a man and his wife who were taking a walk. Just before 11:30 p.m. Monday, police responded to a report of a large disturbance at 100 S. Saint Francis in Wichita, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.

Cyber outage affects Wichita, Sedgwick County
A worldwide cyber outage affected computer systems across the U.S. and around the world, with impacts on airlines, banks and other systems. The issue was apparently triggered by a software update from the CrowdStrike cybersecurity firm. The CEO of CrowdStrike said they were “actively working with customers” globally and that a fix was being deployed. CEO George Kurtz added that “this is not a security incident or a cyberattack.”

No charges in animal cruelty case at Valley Center High School
VALLEY CENTER, Kan. (KWCH) - The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office will not be filing charges in a case of animal cruelty in Valley Center. The case involved allegations that the Valley Center High School baseball team had killed a chicken on the field before an away game on April 20, 2024. The field is located on USD 262 property behind the district’s intermediate school in the 700 block of North Meridian.
