Escambia County Sheriff's deputies discovered a 2-month-old child in a vehicle they used a PIT maneuver to stop following a shots fired response over the weekend.

The department released a Facebook post Monday night stating they responded to a shots fired called Saturday, where a caller reported a woman fired shots and fled in a black SUV.

"Responding deputies observed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop," the ECSO said. "The suspect vehicle refused to stop and a PIT maneuver was used at West Jackson and Lynch Street to stop the SUV."

As deputies approached the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle Alexia Goble told them her 2-month-old child was in the car with her. She then handed the infant to law enforcement and the Department of Children and Families were notified.

No one in the vehicle was injured, the ECSO says.

Upon inspection of the vehicle, deputies discovered a loaded Beretta Cx4 Storm Rifle, a plastic bag with 7.1 grams of fentanyl, 159.5 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, a fatal dose of fentanyl is 2 milligrams, meaning deputies discovered enough fentanyl to potentially kill roughly 3,500 people.

Deputies arrested Goble for fleeing and eluding, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, trafficking in dangerous drugs and child abuse. Jail records indicate she is also charged with firing a weapon in public or on residential property.

A passenger in Goble's vehicle, Mel'trez Coley, was also charged with trafficking fentanyl, distributing marijuana and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to the ECSO.
