    Man arrested for multiple assaults in Center City

    Police arrested and charged a man for five random assaults in Center City.

    A police report says 36-year-old Donnell Bruce pushed three elderly people to the ground.

    The assaults began around 7:15 a.m. Monday morning near 22nd and Market.

    Afterwards, he continued to walk down Market Street where he punched a 22-year-old woman in the face, knocking her into the ground.

    According to police, he tried stealing a bag from a 77-year-old man. When the man resisted, police said Bruce punched him in the mouth.

    Officers were able to arrest him after he tried running away. Bruce has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, and resisting arrest.

    All victims sustained minor injuries.
