Kahleah Copper's Personal Request Before Fever-Mercury Game Is Turning Heads

The Indiana Fever face the Phoenix Mercury for the first time this season on June 30.

With the Fever's rookie phenom Caitlin Clark going up against the Mercury's legendary veteran Diana Taurasi, the highly-anticipated matchup is drawing national attention.

While Clark is the Fever's most productive player, averaging 16.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game, the Mercury's top performer right now is Kahleah Copper.

Copper is averaging 22.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. Copper, who won the WNBA title and Finals MVP award with the Chicago Sky in 2021, made a personal request to fans ahead of the Fever game.

"Take me off yall parlay before I start cursing yall back out…," she posted . Copper's message quickly racked up thousands of likes and strongly mixed reactions.

One fan responded , "Naw I’m betting on you every time… win or lose… I’m ok with taking a risk…" Another person asked , "So don’t take your over on points tomorrow?"

While Copper wants nothing to do with gambling, numerous fans simply celebrated the fact that people are making parlays on the game. One person posted , "WNBA has officially made it now."

Fans also pointed out how Chicago Sky center Kamilla Cardoso shared a similar message when asked about parlays during a livestream on June 22.

The Fever vs. Mercury showdown airs on ESPN at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday.
