Last Jimmy John’s Sandwiches closes in Rochester market

The last Jimmy John’s Sandwiches in the Rochester market has closed.

The Illinois-based chain specializes in sub and club sandwiches and signature potato chips.

Toward the end of last week, during advertised business hours, the store at 1635 East Henrietta in Henrietta abruptly went dark, and calls to its phone number would not go through.

By Saturday, a sign was taped to the locked doors stating the location had closed. The address no longer is listed under New York stores on the Jimmy John’s website.

The Democrat and Chronicle emailed the company’s corporate headquarters seeking more information but did not get a response.

The location was in business for about 13 years.

Three other Jimmy John’s here also have come and gone. A shop on Monroe Avenue in the city lasted about four years. One at the University of Rochester’s College Town was open for two years. And a Jimmy John’s on Ridge Road in Webster was open about six years.
