McConnell Taken in Day Two of 2024 MLB Draft
RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech outfielder Cole McConnell was selected by the Chicago White Sox as the 289th pick on day two of the 2024 MLB draft. McConnell is currently the sixth consecutive Tech player to be drafted in the first ten rounds of the MLB Draft dating back to 2021. The Texas native joins Landon Tompkins (Pittsburgh Pirates, 287th) and Cade Gibson (Miami Marlins, 292nd) as the last three Tech players to be taken in the tenth round. For the first time in program history, Tech has had four consecutive years of a player being drafted in the first ten rounds of the MLB Draft.

Louisiana Tech Women’s Basketball announced its 18-game Conference USA schedule for the 2024-25 season on Thursday in conjunction with the league office. LA Tech will play every league team twice, both home and away, starting on Jan. 2 when the Lady Techsters host UTEP before hosting New Mexico State on Jan. 4.
Mangum Named to NABC Honors Court
RUSTON – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its annual Honors Court on Monday, a list that includes Louisiana Tech's Dravon Mangum. The Bulldog was one of five players voted to the Conference USA All-Academic Team back in March. He carried a 3.60 cumulative grade point average while pursuing his master's degree in Counseling and Guidance at LA Tech.
