ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis woman admitted to stealing $1,500 worth of items after breaking into a home and office in a south city neighborhood, police said.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the home break-in occurred on May 20 on the 2800 block of Itaska Street, located in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.

Police say Stephanie R. Doyle, 46, and a man attempted to enter a home by prying open the front door but were initially unsuccessful. The man then allegedly broke the glass on the right side of the door and reached in to unlock the door from the inside.

Once inside, Doyle and the man took a bag of electrical equipment and a television monitor.

Before leaving the house, Doyle and the man allegedly unplugged three Ring cameras and took them. Police said the footage of the crime was already logged into the victim’s phone when they took the cameras.

The office break-in happened on May 31 on the 4700 block of South Broadway Street, near the scene of the home break-in in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.

Doyle and the man were able to enter the office using a long, large screwdriver, police said. The two stole a three-ton jack and three space heaters.

Investigators viewed the surveillance footage and were able to identify Boyle through previous encounters with her.

After being questioned, police said Doyle admitted to being at the location of the burglaries and told authorities that it was the man’s idea.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Doyle with property damage, two counts of burglary, and two counts of stealing—$750 or more. Doyle is being held without bond. She will next appear in court on July 25 for a detention hearing.
