Francis Howell School District wins school bus driver safety competition
Francis Howell School District's Francis Howell School District placed first in the Missouri Association for Pupil Transportation 50th Annual School Bus Driver Safety Competition, and Hannah Scharfenberg will represent Missouri in the School Bus Driver International Safety Competition in Texas.
Learning the habits of heart and mind
Throughout the school year, Whitfield School freshmen participated in six interactive sessions, each facilitated by a dedicated senior volunteer. The sessions are part of the school’s Habits of Mind and Heart capstone program, which offers students the opportunity to delve deeper into cultural competence, scholarship, mindfulness, citizenship, ethical conduct and leadership.
Rockwood Graduate Spotlight: Marquette Alumna Pursues Career in Engineering
Growing up, Lindsey McGee always had an interest in exploring the “hows” and “whys” of the world and the physics that play into everyday occurrences. At Marquette High, she capitalized on a variety of opportunities to further explore these curiosities through classes such as advanced physics, engineering and drafting. Now, the 2022 Marquette graduate is an honor roll student at the University of Mississippi, where she is working toward a mechanical engineering degree with a minor in Spanish.
Eureka High Featured in New Book About Benefits of Theatre Education
Lucy Ferguson appeared in her first play when she was 7: a Parkway-Rockwood Community Education Spotlight Productions presentation of “The Wizard of Oz.”. From there, she continued taking dance, voice and acting classes, appeared in shows with regional companies and became involved in classes at Eureka High and with the Eureka Theatre Company (etc…). Now a rising junior musical theatre major at Indiana University Bloomington, Ferguson has spent a good amount of time reflecting on the positive personal and academic effects afforded to her by an upbringing on stage.
