    Two people suffer possible life-threatening injuries after crash at Sprague Avenue and McDonald Road intersection

    SPOKANE, Wash. - UPDATE, July 19, 2024 9:31 PM:

    Spokane Valley Police say two people involved in the multiple car crash at the intersection of Sprague Avenue and McDonald Road Friday evening sustained possible life-threatening injuries after a black Subaru ran a red light.

    According to police, officers tried to stop the black spray painted Subaru without license plates around 6:15 p.m. and the car immediately sped up.

    The driver of the Subaru ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into a Honda which then crashed into a truck.

    The Honda driver and one of the passengers had possibly life-threatening injuries. A third passenger in the Honda had non-life-threatening injuries. All three were taken to a local hospital.

    The driver of the Subaru detained and taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. He is being charged with felony vehicular assault and might even face other charges.

    The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

    UPDATE, July 19, 2024 7:47 PM: The Spokane Valley Fire Department said two people were successfully extricated from a three vehicle crash that closed the intersection of Sprague Avenue and McDonald Road Friday evening.

    In total, there were five people hurt in the crash.

    The entire intersection is closed.
