New York Giants star rookie Malik Nabers limped off the practice field Sunday with a potential injury.

Though it's unclear what happened, Nabers was seen limping off the field during practice. He took his left shoe off and was examined by the training staff on the sideline.

According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News , Nabers "was reaching down and touching the top outside of his left foot" as the training staff was attending to him.

The apparent injury occurred during the final team period of practice Sunday.

A report from Dan Duggan of The Athletic stated Nabers "didn’t go inside after checking out of practice, but he’s clearly limping as practice ends. He was using a band to flex his left ankle/foot while sitting on a chest on the sideline."

Following practice, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reported the Giants "don't appear overly concerned at this point," but no update on the severity or type of injury was reported.

Because head coach Brian Daboll spoke to reporters before practice, he won't meet with the media until Monday morning. There may be an update before then if more information is revealed.

There's no understating what a potential injury to Nabers means to the Giants offense. The star rookie is expected to be heavily targeted as the catalyst of the entire unit.

The No. 6 overall pick has been a dominant force throughout training camp, including his unstoppable performance against the Detroit Lions during joint practices last week.

Nabers played 12 snaps during the preseason opener but didn't receive a target.

It could something of concern. It could be nothing. But this is something to monitor until more information is revealed.
