With men’s basketball coming to a close for the 2024 Paris Olympics, FIBA announced the All-Olympic teams, and OKC Thunder ’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did not disappoint.

Although Canada did not medal in this year's Olympic games with a loss to the eventual silver medal winner, France, they displayed to the world that they do not fall short in the talent category.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put up an astounding 21 points per game, over four rebounds, and four assists. While SGA ranked second on the team in rebounds, he led the team in almost every other major statistical category, including points, assists, steals, and blocks. There is no question that Shai deserved a place on the Paris All-Second team, and there may even be an argument that he deserved Paris All-First team.

Fellow Thunder teammate, Luguentz Dort, also played a vital role in Canada’s success as he averaged over six points per game, as well as nearly two rebounds and assists per game.

Now, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder enter the 2024-25 season coming off of being the youngest number one seed in NBA history and a Western Conference semi-finals appearance. Averaging over 30 points per game, alongside six assists and over five rebounds, Shai looks to help lead this Thunder squad to yet another first seed and an even deeper playoff run that leads to a NBA championship.
