The Pittsburgh Steelers have seen a few injuries to players at practice on Wednesday, with center Nate Herbig being one of them.

According to Alex Kozora of Steelers Depot , Herbig was talking with trainers and appeared to be getting his left arm checked out before eventually exiting the field. Herbig's exact injury remains unclear as of this writing.

Herbig wasn't the only Steelers player to get hurt on what is the final training camp practice in Latrobe. Defensive back Grayland Arnold was carted off after suffering an apparent right knee injury, and running back Jonathan Ward had a leg issue .

Herbig's injury is one to monitor moving forward, as he's trying to lock down the starting center job over rookie Zach Frazier, who saw the first-team reps at the position once Herbig exited.

Frazier shined during his preseason debut last week while Herbig struggled, most notably with two bad exchanges with quarterback Justin Fields.

"I like their efforts, but I cannot remove that fundamental component of the eval," Tomlin said, per Aaron Becker of Yardbarker . "We’ve got to be 1,000 percent on (quarterback-center) exchanges. That’s just the standard for professional ball.”

It's clear that Frazier is the future at the position, but how quickly the Steelers go to that future will depend upon how ready the West Virginia product is.

He has been coming on strong the last few weeks and stands a better chance of beating out Herbig than he did at the start of camp.
