Thunder Guard Looking in Midseason Form

While the NBA season is still months away, some players are already in the gym working on improving their skills and getting better in every aspect of their game. It requires a tremendous amount of dedication and focus, and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace has just that.

In a recent post by Michael Timmins ( @iFilmHoopers ), Thunder guard Cason Wallace can be seen working on a variety of shooting and dribbling drills with his brother, Keaton Wallace (who plays for the Atlanta Hawks).

Cason is now entering his sophomore NBA season out of Kentucky, where he was actually drafted by the Dallas Mavericks at 10th overall, but the Thunder ended up making a deal where they sent their 12th overall pick in Dereck Lively II and a traded player exception to Dallas for Cason Wallace and Davis Bertans.

During his rookie year, Cason averaged nearly seven points, two assists, and a steal. While those numbers may not appear crazy on paper, Cason was a vital piece in the Thunder's success.

Many times when Cason was on the court, he was tasked with guarding some of the opponents best players, as Cason's defense is one of, if not the, best attributes about his game. It was because of his impact on both ends of the floor that named him All-Rookie Second Team last season.

Now, as Cason enters this 2024-25 season, his role and minutes will definitely be increased as the OKC Thunder look to get back to the top of the Western Conference and even farther in the NBA Playoffs.
