Longhorns stampede to the Big House for week 2 showdown with Michigan

The Texas Longhorns , fresh off a 52-0 drubbing of Colorado State in Austin last Saturday, are preparing their offensive and defensive assault plan for the reigning champs the Michigan Wolverines.

The Wolverines gained 269 total yards in a win over Fresno State in week 1.

Michigan has barbarians at the gates of the Big House in the form of a Texas Longhorns team that has a dynamic passing attack, talented skill players and an aggressive defense.

New head coach Sherrone Moore takes over a once mighty program that is in chaos.

Michigan returns just 40 percent of its production from the championship team of a season ago. No JJ McCarthy. No Jim Harbaugh . Just a few supporting cast members who hoisted the hardware last season.

Running back Donovan Edwards rushed for 27 yards against Fresno State. Make no mistake, the Wolverines are a shell of their former championship selves.

Judging by his 118-yard passing performance on Saturday, quarterback Davis Warren may get the start against Texas. The Wolverines are underdogs in their building as the Longhorns are favored by 7.5 points in this game.

At his game week press conference, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said “This is why you come to Texas, is to play in games like this, and to think this is the first time in the history of college football that Texas is going to play Michigan in the regular season is pretty awesome and pretty humbling to be part of that. And so we’re definitely looking forward to the forward to the opportunity.”
