Velvet Spurs announce Horseback Poker Run for this weekend is cancelled
Ogallala, Neb. - The Velvet Spurs All-Womens Horseback riding club has announced that the Horseback Poker Run for this Saturday at Ash Hollow has been cancelled. The cancellation is due to weather conditions heading into Saturday that could possibly make the trails wet. The poker run was supposed to take place last weekend but was postponed due to weather.
Local Students Transform Invasive Trees into Innovative Micro-Dwelling Near Ogallala
A College of Architecture project has repurposed invasive eastern redcedar trees to create Mizer Ruin, a micro-dwelling structure at Cedar Point Biological Station near Ogallala. The 200-square-foot structure was developed by students through design-build studios led by Jason Griffiths, associate professor of architecture. OGALLALA - The Missoula Children's Theatre heads to Ogallala and invites area students to try out for Peter and Wendy. Tryouts are this Monday from 4:00-6:00pm MT at Prairie View Elementary School and tryouts will be held in the small gym. Tryouts are open to any student K-12 and all area students are welcome to tryout. 50-60 students will be selected. Students must bring their permission slip with them to the tryouts.
