A response to Commonwealth Charter Academy’s (CCA) Board President | PennLive letters
Since Commonwealth Charter Academy’s (CCA) Board President mentioned me by name in his April 29 letter, I must respond. It is estimated that cyber charter schools cost about $8,000 per student to operate. Yet CCA took $21,6662.88 per student from local schools in 2021-22. How CCA thinks that paying more than twice the actual cost is a “bargain” for taxpayers puzzles me. I think it’s a rip-off although, as he said, it’s a legal one. Gov. Josh Shapiro and lawmakers should fix this before the next school year starts.
