Greg Sankey welcomed the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners to his conference this offseason. However, a controversial topic from last season was discussed Wednesday.

One of the hot topics from last season was the Florida State Seminoles' exclusion from the College Football Playoff despite being undefeated. The four teams chosen were the Michigan Wolverines, Texas Longhorns, Washington Huskies, and Alabama Crimson Tide.

On an appearance with "1010XL" in Jacksonville, Florida, Sankey took an indirect shot at Florida State. He mentioned how the Georgia Bulldogs did not make the playoff but said the SEC was not as furious with the decision.

"Georgia was one of the best four teams (in the nation) and didn't get in (the Playoff)," Sankey said. "But you didn't see us jumping up and down and complaining and hanging national championship banners."

Florida State starting quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a season-ending injury towards the end of last season. The Seminoles played backup QB Tate Rodemaker for the rest of the game. In the ACC Championship, Florida State had to start third-string QB Brock Glenn after Rodemaker was injured.

After not making the playoff, Florida State faced Georgia in the Orange Bowl to close its season.

Florida State added to its team via the transfer portal this offseason. Former Oregon State Beavers and Clemson Tigers quarterback DJ Uiagalelei was the most significant commitment.

Other key transfer commits include former Alabama running back Roydell Williams, former Oregon State defensive lineman Sione Lolohea, and former Colorado Buffaloes cornerback Omarion Cooper.

Florida State opens the year with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Aug. 24.
