ROSELAND, NJ -- The Roseland Department of Public Works (DPW) noted that a significant amount of storm debris has recently been found clogging catch basins and storms drains, including branches, yard waste bags and trash bags.

The borough issued a reminder notice to residents that its ordinance for the disposal of solid waste states that items are to be placed curbside the night preceding the collection day using the approved method. At no time should any items be placed in the roadway.

All household debris should be in a bin/container with a lid: no loose bags at the curb. Cans should be placed at the curb the night before the scheduled collection.

Yard waste should be in paper bags or in a can no larger than 32 gallons; no loose waste at the curb. Bags and cans must be placed at the curb on Tuesday evening for Wednesday collection.

Branches and brush for collection should be placed at the curb no earlier than the day before the scheduled collection. Branches and brush are collected the first Monday of each month except for the months of November and December.
