    $$$$Perfect For:Casual Dinners

In its heyday, Carmine’s was a glitzy industry hotspot where tuxedo-clad waiters served A-listers linguine and clams. That’s not the case anymore, even if the Hollywood types never totally left. This tavern-like restaurant in Century City is a gathering spot for CAA agents and Fox crewmembers who like to dissect box office returns at the table. The service is warmer than the food, which tends to arrive room temp and in need of seasoning. But given how much of an escape Carmine’s is, we can forgive all that. The friendly staff and ambiance make this a pleasant place to eat gloopy veal parmigiana, listen to Dean Martin, and forget the outside world for a while.
