    Appleton Police Department investigates shooting incident reported on the city's southside

    The Appleton Police Department is investigating a shooting incident at occurred late Friday morning in the 300 block of West Valley Road.

    Officers responded to the southside of the city shortly before noon after receiving "reports of gunshots and multiple involved individuals fleeing the area," the department said in a release.

    Several local law enforcement agencies responded and they went through the surrounding neighborhoods. The Appleton Police Department said "physical evidence was located at the scene."

    No injuries were reported linked to the shots fired, and the police department says it is believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.

    More information will be released as updated become available, according to Lt. Nic Meyer.
