NINTENDO excited fans by revealing that there would be an announcement that there would be a Nintendo Direct by the end of the month.

The August Nintendo Direct & Indie World Showcase is a double bill for all the upcoming games that will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

This Nintendo Direct will last 40 minutes and is expected to feature dozens of games that will be released for Nintendo Switch in 2024 and 2025.

There are a number of games that are rumoured to appear, and fans can’t help themselves from having high hopes for their favourite series.

Epic Mickey: Rebrushed demo is out now

A demo for Epic Mickey: Rebrushed was rumoured to be announced during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.

Store pages for the demo have now been spotted for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Steam.

The demo shadow dropped an hour before the Nintendo Direct begins leading some to believe that it was published early in error.

We'll have to wait to see if it is officially announced during the showcase.

    What is a Partner Showcase?

A Partner Showcase is a Nintendo Direct featuring developers and publishers that work with Nintendo, rather than first-party games.

Nintendo has a long list of partnerships with major companies such as Square Enix, Atlus, Capcom, EA, and FromSoftware.

We expect a number of upcoming games from these companies to be shown, and the games might also be available on other platforms.

Will the Switch 2 be shown during the Nintendo Direct?

Nintendo has announced that it is working on a Switch successor, known by fans as the Switch 2.

However, the upcoming console will not be featured in the August 2024 Nintendo Direct as per Nintendo's Twitter account.

The tweet reads: "Please note, there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during either of these presentations."

The company has said that it will give more news on the console before April 2025.

What won't be shown during the Nintendo Direct?

The August 2024 Direct is a Partner Showcase and Indie World Showcase rolled into one.

This means that we won't see any first-party Nintendo titles like Super Mario or The Legend of Zelda.

People are still eagerly awaiting Hollow Knight's follow up, Silksong, but we haven't seen anything that suggests it will appear.
