Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) is continuing to follow leads stemming from multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired Tuesday night in the area of Letitia Street.

Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones said no one was injured in the incident, but officers did make contact with residents in the area who confirmed hearing multiple shots somewhere in the vicinity.

Jones said one vehicle was found to have been struck by a single bullet and a shell casing has been recovered. VPD is also reviewing camera footage from the area, she said.

While Jones said officers did not receive any reports of altercations or other disputes in the area of Letitia Street Tuesday night, any relevant information can be shared with VPD by calling 601-636-2511.
