AMVETS golf tournament will be June 8

The AMVETS Bay Area Post 10 will hold its first golf tournament on Saturday, June 8, at Coos Golf Club.

The registration deadline for the scramble event is May 27 and the entry fee is $400 per team.

Groups or businesses also can sponsor holes for the tournament for $300.

Registration on June 8 begins at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Lunch will be available to purchase.

Prizes will be presented to the top team, as well as for longest drive and closest to the pin. Teams can purchase “game enhancement” items including mulligan, foot wedge, putting string and heckler.

Ken Ware is sponsoring a hole-in-one contest during the event and a 50-50 raffle will be held as well as a silent auction. There also is a raffle for a C597 Corvette with limited tickets available.

All proceeds from the event go to support local veterans and the South Coast community.
