    What to do on Mother's Day: A list of Henderson County events planned

    Mother's Day is May 12, and there will be several events to choose from in the Hendersonville area for outings for mothers.

    Listed below are events planned this weekend for Mother's Day, including shopping, brunches and even a car show for moms who are Corvette lovers.

    Historic Johnson Farm's Mother's Day Market

    Historic Johnson Farm will host its fourth annual Mother’s Day Market from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 11, rain or shine. This outdoor craft fair will showcase over 25 local vendors, according to a news release.

    A diverse array of crafts will be available, including jewelry, ceramics, leather items, wooden décor baked goods and more, the release said. The event is free and will be held outside at the farm.

    Hot dogs (donated by Hot Dog World), chips and drinks will be available for purchase to support the non-profit farm's operating fund. There will be a farm table to purchase a plant from the Johnson Farm gardeners or a farm logo item like a mug or magnet.

    The Heritage Weavers & Fiber Artists will have their gift shop open with plenty of fiber gifts for purchase, the release said. In addition to the numerous crafters, the historic 1880s farmhouse will be open for self-guided tours, and visitors may view the Johnson’s 1924 Model T that was recently returned to the farm and is now housed in a farm shed.

    Parking will be available across the street at Rugby Middle School, and volunteers from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office will help visitors cross the street. Handicapped parking is available at the farm. Pets must be on a leash.

    Historic Johnson Farm is located at 3346 Haywood Road, Hendersonville and features 15 acres of forest, fields and streams, 10 historic structures, animals and picnic tables.     Mother’s Day Brunch at Kenmure Country Club

    The annual Mother’s Day Brunch at Kenmure Country Club will be held on Mother's Day with seating times available between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the club's Charleston Room.

    This is a buffet style brunch, and the cost is $60 per person. For children under 12, it's $30 each, and it's free for children under 2. Reservations can be made by calling the club, 100 Clubhouse Drive, Flat Rock, at 828-693-8506.

    Kanuga Mother's Day Brunch

    Kanuga, 130 Kanuga Chapel Road, Hendersonville, will be hosting a Mother's Day Brunch from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Mother's Day, May 12.

    Cost for the brunch is $45.99 for adults 13 and over, $19.99 for children ages 3-12 and free for children 2 and under. The buffet includes access to all outdoor activities on the grounds.

    Bold Rock's Mother's Day Bruch, Steal the Pint

    Bold Rock in Mills River, 72 School House Road, is hosting a Mother's Day Brunch and Steal the Pint event from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Mother's Day, May 12.

    Bold Rock will have a featured brunch menu and will be giving flowers away to moms along with a very special Steal the Pint glass, according to a news release. More information is available by calling 828-595-9940 or by going to the Bold Rock website .

    Emporium on Main celebrates Mother's Day

    Emporium on Main, 414 S. Main St., will be celebrating Mother's Day this weekend with workshops and special sales, according to a news release.

    The thrift store will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 11 and noon-4 p.m. May 12. Reservations must be made for the workshops and classes and can be made by going to the Emporium on Main's website at https://www.theemporiumonmain.com/ .

    Third annual All-Corvette Car Show set

    For moms who are Corvette enthusiasts, this event is sure to please. It's the third annual All-Corvette Car Show, and it's being held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 11 at Prescott Auto Reserve, 37 Maxwell Drive, Hendersonville.

    Boyd Chevrolet is sponsoring the show. All net proceeds support the charity Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue in Fletcher.
