Traffic Signal Collision at State Ave & Central St: Lane Closures & Temporary Stop

A collision has damaged a traffic signal at the intersection of State Avenue and Central Street and will need to be replaced, the City of Olympia reports.

City crews will remove the traffic signal on Friday, May 17, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. State Avenue will see temporary lane closures as the work wraps up, according to the City.

At least one lane will be available during that time, but both lanes of State Avenue will be closed for around 10 minutes, the City reports.

The intersection of State Avenue and Central Street will be converted to a two-way stop for around a month during which time traffic on Central Street will be stop-controlled, according to the City of Olympia.

City officials urge commuters to consider an alternate route and to use caution when traveling through work zones.
