    Late-night structure fire in downtown Topeka

    TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Topeka Fire Department was called to work a structure fire in downtown Topeka late Monday night.

    At 11:50 p.m., firefighters responded to the 200 block of Southwest Harrison Street for reports of a structure fire. When crews arrived they found smoke and flames coming out of a two-story home. The fire was able to spread to a neighboring home, according to the Topeka Fire Department (TFD).

    All occupants were able to escape safely. Crews were able to extinguish the fire. The total estimated loss of the blaze was $32,000, according to the TFD.

    The incident is still under investigation.
