TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Topeka Police Department (TPD) is investigating a reported bank robbery in downtown Topeka Tuesday.

City of Topeka spokeswoman Rosie Nichols said in a press release on July 23 TPD officers were called around 10:30 a.m. to US Bank at 719 South Kansas Avenue on reports a man made demands for cash before running away. The man indicated he possessed a weapon during the incident.

Police are still investigating the situation alongside federal partners. No injuries were reported during the alleged robbery. Officers are currently searching for a suspect in this investigation.

“The suspect was seen with light-colored facial hair, wearing a multi-color ball cap backwards, a red football jersey with the number “7” on it, red athletic shorts, and brown boots. Anyone with information is encouraged to report it to law enforcement by calling 911.”
