Cole Cubelic Drops Blunt Admission on Jalen Milroe For 2024 College Football Season

Jalen Milroe is tasked with more responsibility in the 2024 college football season.

The Alabama quarterback will be asked to take his game to another level in head coach Kalen DeBoer's offense. For the offense to run effectively, one analyst believes he needs to bring more consistency.

College football analyst Cole Cubelic shared his honest thoughts on the steps Milroe needs to take this season on the " Snaps " podcast.

"Jalen Milroe is going to have to be more consistent and more accurate to be great in this offense," Cubelic opined. "I think Milroe's got a chance to have a big year, it's just, he's gotta be more consistent."

Cubelic believes Milroe will be asked to attempt plenty of intermediate passes in 2024.

The intermediate passing game, though not the first characteristic that comes to mind in DeBoer's offense, could unlock more for Alabama if Milroe can make intermediate throws.

Whether or not Milroe takes the next step in his progression could determine if Alabama can compete for a title this season. The quarterback is talented enough to win a Heisman Trophy if he puts it all together.

Bringing consistency could be difficult to accomplish this season. Milroe will have to perform against one of the SEC's toughest gauntlets.

Alabama will face all of Tennessee , LSU , Oklahoma and Wisconsin on the road with games against Georgia , Missouri and Auburn at home.

Despite several difficult matchups, there's confidence that DeBoer's offense can bring the best out of Milroe in the biggest games.

In four seasons at Fresno State and Washington , DeBoer had a 12-2 record against Top 25 teams. If the Alabama coach optimizes Milroe, expect several more big wins in 2024.

Alabama will open the season against Western Kentucky on Aug. 31.
