West Virginia man escapes from Correctional Center after being allowed to go to church on Sunday
West Virginia officials are looking for a man from the Mountain State that escaped a correctional center. Officials say Gregory Dale Stewart escaped from the Parkersburg Correctional Center while he was on furlough to go to church on Sunday.

Wood County fire destroys structure, claims lives of two dogs
WALKER — A fire which destroyed an outbuilding and killed two pets at a residence in Walker is being ruled accidental. The Deerwalk Volunteer Fire Department, along with the East Wood and Waverly volunteer fire departments, responded to 877 Wright Rd. in Walker to a report of a structure fire Monday at around 4:30 p.m., said Deer Walk Fire Chief Matt Whitlatch.

Marietta development director updates city council on $9.4M levee improvement project
MARIETTA — Marietta City Council received an update last week on the city’s $9.4 million waterfront improvement project.
