Capitals Prospect Notes: Frank Hurt & Late Scratch For Hershey, Phillips Back In, Iorio Returns From Long-Term Injury vs. Wolf Pack

The Washington Capitals are watching the Hershey Bears closely as they make a run to defend their Calder Cup title, and they are looking to complete the sweep against the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday.

Hershey will get a boost with some key names back in the mix, but the Bears are also dealing with a major void up front.

Ethen Frank, who is tied for the team lead in playoff goals with Ivan Miroshnichenko, was originally listed as being in the lineup, but is unavailable due to an injury and is a late scratch.

It is unclear what the ailment is or how long it is expected to sideline the 26-year-old, who earned himself a two-way NHL deal from the Capitals this season.

With Frank out, Matthew Phillips will draw back into the lineup for Hershey after sitting out as a scratch, skating in Frank's place on the top line with Joe Snively and Hendrix Lapierre.

Riley Sutter and Logan Day also remain out for the Bears amid injuries.

Meanwhile, on defense, Vincent Iorio will make his long-awaited return after missing the last month and day due to an upper-body injury. He suffered the ailment in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with Washington, when a hit from Alexis Lafreniere sent him hard into the boards.

Iorio will draw in on the second defense pairing with Lucas Johansen.
