WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — On Saturday morning, the Washington Wizards introduced all three of their first round draft picks at a special introductory press conference and ceremony at Union Station.

The team introduced No. 2 overall pick French center Alex Sarr, No. 14 overall Baltimore native guard Carlton “Bub” Carrington and No. 24 overall guard and forward Kyshawn George out of Miami.

The trio represents another step in the rebuilding process under general manager Will Dawkins and president of Monumental basketball Michael Winger.

After the event at Union Station, the rookies headed over to Barry Farms Recreation Center in Southeast Washington, holding a special skills clinic for local children. The Wizards and Monumental Sports and Entertainment donated $25 thousand to Leveling the Playing Field, expanding access and equity in local youth sports.

Sarr, Carrington and George took part in the event, along with head coach Brian Keefe, Dawkins and others from the organization.

After visiting with the kids, the rookies sat courtside at Saturday’s Washington Mystics game.

Soon, the rookies will take the court together in Las Vegas for the NBA Summer League Wizards team. The Wizards’ first summer league game is scheduled for July 12.
