Capitals Release 2024-25 Regular Season Schedule; Key Dates To Watch

ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals are staying busy as they prepare for their 2024-25 campaign, and now, they have their full schedule on hand.

The NHL released all 32 teams' regular-season schedules on Tuesday. And for Washington, there are quite a few dates to keep an eye on as the Capitals celebrate their 50th anniversary.

The Capitals open the season at home on Oct. 12 against the New Jersey Devils. It will mark the Washington debuts of offseason acquisitions Pierre-Luc Dubois, Jakob Chychrun, Logan Thompson, Matt Roy, Brandon Duhaime and Taylor Raddysh.

Then, on Oct. 29, the Capitals play host to the New York Rangers in a rematch of their first-round playoff series from this past season. Washington was swept in four games by the Rangers, who won the Presidents' Trophy and ultimately made it to the Eastern Conference Final before falling to the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.

On Nov. 8, the Capitals will renew their rivalry with Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins as they meet for the first time in the regular season at Capital One Arena.

Ten days later, D.C. will make its first visit to Salt Lake City to take on Utah Hockey Club. The Capitals also host Utah on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 9.

Washington faces the defending Cup champion Panthers for the first time on Nov. 25, and then at home for the first time on Feb. 4.

The home finale will be on April 13 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, and the season culminates on April 17 on the road against the Penguins.
