WNBA Fans Left Speechless By Kate Martin Pass In Aces Vs. Mystics

The Las Vegas Aces secured their fourth straight victory on Sunday, taking down the Washington Mystics 89-77 on the road. During the win, Kate Martin had an incredible pass that left WNBA fans in awe.

The rookie found her teammate Megan Gustafson inside the paint, threading the pass between two defenders for the easy layup as the rest of the Aces celebrated the sequence after.

The 24-year-old former Iowa standout has been a bright spot for the back-to-back defending champions, bringing her high IQ to Sin City. She capped off the night with three points, two rebounds, and two assists.

The fans couldn't hide their excitement upon seeing the play and took to social media. "I'm here and loving it. Let's go," said one fan, while another said, "Teamwork! Go Aces!"

Another fan commented on Chelsea Gray making the initial pass to Martin, applauding the hockey assist. "I love that Chelsea saw Meg open but did not have the angle, so she passed it to Kate, and Kate also saw it and had a good angle to make the pass," the fan said.

Following the victory over the Mystics, the defending champions improved to a 16-7 record and were listed as the No. 1 team in the WNBA Western Conference standings.

Martin and Gustafson had a connection before their time in the WNBA. Both suited up for the Iowa Hawkeyes for one season in 2019, with Gustafson being a senior while Martin was a freshman. However, it was a red-shirt year for Martin due to an injury, and she didn't have the chance to share the floor with Gustafson.
