ASHBURN, Va. (DC News Now) — For Melba Jacobson, visiting the Washington Commanders is a birthday tradition.

“I just am so pleased that I’m able to come this year,” Jacobson, a resident of Silver Spring, Maryland, told DC News Now. “New team, new owners and all, but I’m here. And I’m very excited because it keeps us going, you know?”

Jacobson first came to camp for her 90th birthday. We first introduced you to Jacobson last year on her 99th birthday . She celebrated her actual 100th birthday on July 31 , but came to training camp Tuesday for her official celebration with the team.

After practice, Commanders players came over and sang happy birthday to Jacobson and brought her a cake.

“I can’t believe it,” Jacobson said. “I’m starting in my second childhood.”

Jacobson spent some one-on-one time with legendary Washington head coach, three-time Super Bowl champion Joe Gibbs, telling him “I asked to talk to you cause you’re the one that took them to the Super Bowl.” Gibbs replied, “yeah we did, we went to a couple of those.”

Jacobson also shared a special moment with one of her favorite current players wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

Jacobson said she still has the same message as she did at training camp last year on her birthday.

“Just get me a Super Bowl,” Jacobson said.
