The Washington Commanders drafted their potential quarterback of the future in April, selecting Jayden Daniels out of LSU with the second overall pick behind Caleb Williams. Daniels became a star in Baton Rouge after struggling to find himself at Arizona State.

The versatile signal-caller has shown well in training camp so far, and he's impressed one veteran in particular: tight end Zach Ertz. The former Philadelphia Eagle knew the hype surrounding Daniels coming into the league, and while it takes some rookies time to adjust, Ertz believes the 23-year-old will hit the ground running from Week 1.

    Via NBC Sports' JP Finlay:

“A lot of times you talk about rookies like, ‘This guy is going to be good.’ Jayden is good now,” Ertz said.

Quite the endorsement. Daniels is undoubtedly going to be a game-changer for Kliff Kingsbury's offense, given his ability to throw the football and use his legs to do damage.

It may be too early to say Washington has their franchise QB, but Ertz seems to think that's the case. Only time will tell.
