Farmington parent expresses shock after learning class size
FARMINGTON, Utah — One parent in Farmington says he has big concerns after hearing his fifth grader’s classes at Farmington Elementary School will have 37 kids to one teacher. There are only two teachers for 74 students in Farmington Elementary School’s fifth-grade classrooms. One parent, Jeffrey Keller,...
Roy football preview: Solomona wants Royals to play with ‘chip on their shoulder’
ROY -- Among the area's defending region champs, Roy High may have the most room on its shelf for another title banner this fall with a deep roster and Chris Solomona returning for his third season as head coach. In two seasons at Roy, Solomona is 16-7 and returns a...
Bonneville football preview: Afuvai demanding more from seniors as Lakers open with road stretch
WASHINGTON TERRACE -- With the offseason winding down, Bonneville football is tightening everything under the sun before Friday's season-opener at Ridgeline. The Lakers enter the season down a whopping 26 seniors, including starting quarterback Jaxon Johnson, from a 6-6 (4-3 Region 5) campaign under head coach Jantz Afuvai. The now 12th-year coach returns an "All-Star staff" consisting of former Bear River head coach Chris Wise at offensive coordinator, Ken Perkins on the other side and former Utah lineman Luis Park leading the trenches.
Me, Myself, as Mommy: WSU PREP provides youth with academic, social opportunities

The transition of elementary to junior high is the epitome of out of the frying pan into the fire, not only because of the schoolwork but also the social landscape. Not because I'm a sadist, as my children claim, but because I'm a realist, I enrolled Benson in a summer program that prepares these teens for the possibilities of what lies ahead if they work hard in school.
Morgan football preview: Quarterback battle, staff changes shaping senior-heavy Trojans
MORGAN -- Jared Barlow doesn't let his players walk at practice. It's part of a standard the Morgan High head coach sets for his team at the beginning of each season. And it's for good measure. Not long ago, the Trojans were crowned 3A state champions in 2022 and picked up the program's 15th region title during their latest campaign (8-4, 5-0 3A North) after a 1-3 start with losses to Crimson Cliffs, Sky View and Green Canyon.
