DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Fire Department credits a fire sprinkler with keeping a high-rise building in downtown standing. The fire department referred to the sprinkler as a "hero" in a Facebook post made on Thursday. The department says that just after 10 a.m. on Thursday, a sprinkler activated on the 20th floor of the Ligutti Tower apartment building located on 5th Avenue.
