7/2/24 Jennifer Aither is July’s Lobby Gallery Artist at Town Square
GREEN LAKE, WI, – Local artist Jennifer Aither’s artwork will be featured at Town Square Community Center’s Lobby Gallery throughout the month of July. The gallery is located at 492 Hill St, Green Lake and is open during Town Square’s regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm, and Saturdays 9am – 3pm.

The Fond du Lac Symphonic Band, under the direction of Evan Chancellor will present its traditional Americana Concert at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac on Thursday, the 4th of July, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Dan Fee will sing God Bless America, and he will be joined by Norm Francis in a duet: From Sea to Shining Sea. Additional patriotic selections include Morton Gould’s American Salute, O’er the Land of the Free by Vinson, and the Armed Forces Salute. American pops and standards will be featured in An Ellington Festival, Irving Berlin Showstoppers, a Tribute to Benny Goodman, Gershwin!, and Pop Rock Legends: Elvis. The concert will conclude with the official march of the United States: Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa. The Band’s performance will be followed by fireworks on the lakefront at 9:30 p.m.. The Symphonic Band’s summer concerts in Fond du Lac are sponsored by the City of Fond du Lac. Next on the summer schedule is the Symphonic Band at Buttermilk Creek Park on July 10 with the theme: “A Night at the Theatre,” followed by a band performance at Campbellsport on July 11. There is no concert scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 at Buttermilk Creek Park.
6/30/24 Chicago’s Famed Second City Returns to Green Lake for Two Shows
Green Lake, Wis. – On July 20, Chicago’s legendary sketch and improv comedy theater returns to Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake, Wisconsin, for two shows with a 65th Anniversary Show. This is a must-see comedy featuring some of Chicago’s brightest comedy stars in a special night – two show engagement. Showtimes are 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
7/2/24 American Legion Honors Ripon Police Officer Trevor Hanke
Ripon American Legion Post #43 last night honored Ripon Police Officer Trevor Hanke with their Police Officer of the Year Award. Over the past 25 years Officer Hanke has handled three K9s for the department. He brought his latest K9 partner Rony with him to the American Legion Monday evening. Rony is retiring at the end of the year after 10 years with Officer Hanke. The German Shepherd is a dual purpose K9, trained in narcotics and patrol work. Although Officer Hanke will continue with the police department, he will not be taking on another K9 partner. (Ripon Brown-Parfitt American Legion Post 43 photos).
