ELKINS, W.Va. (WBOY) — HomeOwnership Center in Elkins held its second homebuying open house event on Tuesday called “Road to Homeownership.”

Staff at the HomeOwnership Center offered four workshops on home ownership and preparedness for those interested in becoming home buyers. These workshops included:

    • Secrets to success for personal finance
    • Homebuying myths
    • Homebuying 101

“It’s never too early to start the process regardless of whether you think that this is the year you’re going to buy a house or if it’s in a couple of years from now. We would encourage people to reach out to us at any point. Our homeownership advisor Jamie Carpenter is really well versed in just getting people a sense of where they stand,” HomeOwnership Center Executive Director Kate Somers said.

A few of the HomeOwnership Center preferred realtors were on-site to answer questions about the local housing market and the upcoming homebuying season. To learn more about the HomeOwnership Center, click here.
