BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — “The Canteen” has officially returned to Clarksburg and celebrated on Thursday by cutting the ribbon on its new Emily Drive location.

Inspired by the original location in Stealey, the new location’s menu includes smash burgers, grilled hotdogs, hand-cut fries, milkshakes, and their take on the original location’s Giovanni sandwich.

The new location is owned by Bridgeport locals Jarrad Spraggins and Walt Foster who also opened Farm House Ice Cream a couple of years back. The pair said that they paid tribute to the restaurant because it’s where Foster’s parents met.

“We wanted to do a burger restaurant here for a while, and we thought that Harrison County area would be the perfect place for it,” Spraggins said.

The Canteen looks forward to serving the community, and Spraggins said that his favorite orders are the Giovanni sandwich and the Barbecue Cowboy Burger, which features barbecue sauce, jalapeno peppers, pepper jack cheese, and two smashed patties.

If you’re interested in checking out The Canteen, you can find it at 295 Emily Drive. It’s hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
