Man allegedly beaten by 3 men after moped breaks down on Highway 90 near Longs, report says

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A man told Horry County authorities he was attacked Tuesday morning by three unknown men after his moped broke down on Highway 90 near Longs.

Horry County police responded at about 3:20 a.m. and found the man covered in blood with cuts on the right side of his face and the top of his head, according to a police report. He was taken to the hospital by EMS.

The man said his moped broke down near Livingston Road and that he was walking back to a tent off Star Bluff Road when he was attacked, the report said. He told officers the men initially asked him if he needed help before assaulting him.

The report also noted that the man told police he had been “heavily drinking” and that he could only describe his alleged attackers as “young males.”

No additional information was immediately available.
