CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Registration is now open for an electronic recycling event sponsored by the cities of Champaign, Urbana and Champaign County.

The Countywide Residential Electronics Collection (CREC) will host a collection day at Parkland College later this fall. To attend this event, people living in participating communities (a list of which is below) must register online in advance .

The registration process allows people to reserve a 15-minute timeslot to drop off their electronics. Upon reserving a time, people will receive a confirmation via email or text message. Then, 10 to 14 days before the event, they will receive a postcard in the mail that will serve as their “ticket” into the event.
