DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is dead after crashing a vehicle in Preble County.

According to Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson, deputies were dispatched Wednesday around 6:50 p.m. to the area of County Road 227, just north of Swann Beatty Road.

Detonations expected Thursday at Wright-Patterson AFB

The Preble County Sheriff’s Office said the preliminary investigation conducted showed that Robert Stang, 74, of Camden, was driving a 2019 Nissan northbound on CR 227. Officials believe that Stang went off of the right side of the roadway, hit a guardrail, went over an embankment and into Seven Mile Creek.

Simpson confirmed Stang, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was died at the scene. He was taken from the scene to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

As of date, the crash remains under investigation.
