Armed, and dangerous fugitive identified by TPD
Shortly before 4 PM today, July 17, Toccoa Chief of Police Jimmy Mize just advised WNEG News that the second individual being sought in connection to the gunfire yesterday at Regency on W. Currahee Street has been identified as Veon Nicely, 23, of Toccoa. Felony warrants for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime have been issued for Nicely.

Fire damages Seneca business pickup truck
A pickup truck belonging to a business on 123 Seneca ByPass caught fire early this afternoon and required the assistance of the fire department to extinguish. The damage occurred in the parking area in front of Pike’s Seafood in the Golden Corner Plaza shopping center. Reports from the scene indicate no one hurt and, although there was fire the fire might spread, none of Golden Corner Plaza shops were damaged, nor was there damage to any nearby parked vehicle. Capt. Lee of the fire department said the origin of the fire was the engine component of the truck.
One in Custody Following Afternoon Gunfire Near Regency Inn
Update 8:10 PM: Just spoke with Chief Mize: there is minimal information available, as this is an active and ongoing investigation. One individual is in custody and is refusing to speak, Mize said. More information on the identity and location of the second individual is still being sought. Mize said the Crime Investigation Division (CID) has taken charge of the investigation. The information available at this point is that two individuals were shooting at each other; no one was hit, one vehicle was struck and one gun has been recovered. This is all the information that has been released to WNEG News at the moment.
