The Clemson board of trustees approved a number of athletic related initiatives on Thursday, many of which revolved around the futures of its coaches. Clemson's Dabo Swinney on his travel bucket list, video game speed, playful Nick Saban jab
CLEMSON — Coach Dabo Swinney and all 10 Clemson football assistant coaches spoke with the media Tuesday to preview the 2024 college football season. But it wasn't all about Clemson trying to bounce back from a 9-4 season or get to the College Football Playoff after missing the last three seasons. Here were some of the more light-hearted moments.
Back-up for the back: Phil Mafah setting tone for Clemson, leading room full of talent
(WACH) - For the past three years, Dabo Swinney hasn't had to think much about winning without Will Shipley. Shipley turned pro this year. His name is cemented in Clemson football history, but his snaps are now open for a new leader. Senior running back Phil Mafah is set to...

Clemson offensive line coach shares injury update on Walker Parks
One of the areas the Tigers need the most help with in the 2024 season is the offensive line, and the return of veteran lineman Walker Parks should definitely help there. In 2023, Parks had a season-ending lower-body injury against Charleston Southern, which resulted in him playing just two games and 123 offensive snaps. Now a redshirt senior, Parks is in his fifth and final year with the program. During Dabo Swinney’s Media Outing at the Allen Reeves Football Complex on Tuesday, offensive line coach Matt Luke shared an injury update on Parks. “He is doing well,” Luke said “That was a tough one just because I did not get him in the bowl game or spring practice, but right now, he looks as good as he has looked since I have been here. He is full speed running and he is full speed in the weight room. It will probably be five or six practices in before we really know more.” Hopefully, Parks will be 100% by the start of the season. The Tigers need him to compete for an ACC Championship.
Garrett Riley on potential future head coach offers
Even if the 2023 college football season wasn’t what the Clemson football program was hoping for on offense, they have one of the brightest young minds as their offensive coordinator. Garrett Riley was an incredibly hot name when he joined the Tigers as a young, up-and-coming coach. Helping lead TCU to the national championship in 2022, Riley also won the 2022 Broyles Award for the top coordinator in college football. While he didn’t reach expectations in 2023, the upcoming season could be very different. During Dabo Swinney’s Media Outing at the Allen Reeves Football Complex on Tuesday, Riley addressed the possible head...
