South Carolina port authority notes volume growth in FY24
The South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) finished fiscal-year 2024 with a 7% bump in container volume moving through the Port of Charleston in June. The authority registered 218,115 20-foot equivalent units and 121,267 pier containers last month, marking the second-highest June on record. Loaded imports climbed 10% and loaded exports rose 5%.

Upstate Verizon stores giving away school backpacks
With the school year fast approaching, Verizon Wireless stores across the Upstate are participating in the 12th annual “Schools Rock Backpack Giveaway” July 28 at 1 p.m. The event is hosted by Verizon authorized retailer Round Room. It will be give away more than $3 million worth of backpacks nationwide. Any backpacks not picked up will be donated to local schools.
