Preliminary recommendations for Greenline-Spartanburg neighborhood plan unveiled
Preliminary recommendations for the Greenline-Spartanburg Neighborhood Master Plan were unveiled to city of Greenville leaders and the general public Aug. 15. The city has spent the last several months working with Arcadis, neighborhood residents and stakeholders to develop an updated plan for the neighborhood. The outdated plan for the Greenline-Spartanburg neighborhood located northeast of downtown Greenville was created in 2001.
Successful Test of Humanoid Robots at BMW Group Plant
Munich/Spartanburg, USA. The BMW Group is exploring the use of humanoid robots in production for the first time. During a trial run lasting several weeks at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg, the latest humanoid robot Figure 02 from California company Figure successfully inserted sheet metal parts into specific fixtures, which were then assembled as part of the chassis. The robot must be particularly dexterous to complete this production step.

Sculptors Show New Work in Metal and Wood at Mica Gallery in Bakersville
Two sculptors, Jim Cooper and Melissa Engler, are showing new work at Mica Gallery. Engler is a wood sculptor with a BA in Sculpture from UNC Asheville. She also trained in studio furniture at Haywood Community College, where she focused on creating functional pieces that had a sculptural presence. Her new body of work at Mica Gallery focuses on nature and declining biodiversity. “Each piece tells a story about our relationship to the natural world and much of my work mourns the drastic loss of biodiversity that we are experiencing in our lifetimes,” she says.
CAT bus Announces Route Changes, Clemson City Council Meeting Postponed, for Clemson University Welcome Week Today
Today, Clemson Area Transportation (CATbus) will alter two routes from 4-10 p.m. due to Clemson University’s Welcome Week. The Red to Central route will bypass downtown Clemson, taking Highway 123 to Perimeter Road, with stops at Subway and Sikes Hall before resuming the normal route. The Red to Clemson route will deviate by staying on Highway 93, turning onto Perimeter Road and Highway 76 before returning to College Avenue. Residents and passengers should expect delays due to construction on College Avenue and Perimeter Road. Additionally, The Clemson City Council meeting scheduled for this evening is postponed until Monday, August 26th.
